Screened Porch
Minneapolis, Minnesota
The owners for this project sought to have a screened-in porch with a view of the back yard as well as provide the everyday (back) entry to their house. The requirements were to design a simple structure, open and airy enough to act as a screened porch, yet proportioned such as to scale nicely against the backdrop of the massive, red brick wall of their 2 1/2-story house. The thickness of the walls allow the screen to move from the outside face of wall at the main parts of the porch, to the inside face of wall at the corners creating a variety of surface and expression.
