Zalk Remodel
Minneapolis, Minnesota
A 70’s remodel that took away from its original style and character became the main design challenge of this home. The roof of the master bedroom was extended and a front porch added in order to give the house an urban scale. The interior had a series of small, disconnected spaces. Instead of removing walls and opening all up, a central space was created that all the rooms could flow into. This was inspired by the owner’s admiration of Mexican culture and his need to house some pieces of art from the region.
