Madeline Island Cottage

Madeline Island, Wisconsin

From the wrap-around porch of this colorful cottage, one can survey the sun setting over Lake Superior. The home was inspired by the North Shore dwellings of architect Edwin Lundie, employing post and beam construction, and hand hewn details. An enormous fireplace of Chilton stone anchors the building to its site.

Designed by Michaela Mahady with Maurice Stenerson and Jessica Wilder.
The cottage and adjacent sauna were built by Mike North and William Tibble.
