Nancekivell Residence

North Oaks, Minnesota

This long, thin house invites the south sun to its gabled side face. The rooms within step down the hill, reflecting the slope of the site. A trellised courtyard leads to a glass entryway, which acts as a transparent link between the central form and side wing. The side wing contains children's bedrooms, and the main bedroom is tucked under the gable, opening onto a balcony perched over the courtyard.

Designed by Michaela Mahady with John Hecker, Maurice Stenerson and Meghan Kell Cornell.
