Park Nest

Park Nest highlights the potential of the proverbial walk-out rambler to become the perfect empty nest. Situated on a park-like south-facing slope, all 2100 existing square feet were renovated to the studs for improved function, performance and views. Only a main-level screened porch, situated amid existing pines and set atop a walk-out level storage “shed,” were added to the existing structure. The main level was reconfigured to open circulation and views throughout the living areas, add a half-bath for guests, and convert a second bedroom into a walk-in closet creating a secluded owners’ suite. The walk-out level was updated for guest use, and behind the scenes, new high-efficiency mechanicals serve a building envelope now wrapped in a continuous layer of exterior insulation with a high-performance combination of double- and triple-pane windows.
