Tower Retreat Two Harbors, Minnesota
This Lake Superior retreat poetically combines vernacular forms and materials with whimsical scale and details. The site of the four-story stone and copper tower provokes excitement in guests as they arrive, and the vast view of the rocky shoreline from its 30-foot-high platform validates the anticipation. The fir interior’s cabin-like scale downplays the retreat’s 3,000-plus square feet.
