Bergeron Residence Addition Minneapolis, Minnesota
Needing a serious kitchen for a serious cook, the owners of this 1923 home also wanted to add a fireplace in the kitchen and be true to the home’s character. An addition contains an inglenook as a way to incorporate a fireplace while also providing sitting space for visiting with the chef. In addition to the kitchen there is also space for a drop down desk to create a compact home office. The former 70 square foot kitchen provided space for a three quarter bath as well as a hallway off the kitchen with pantry and utility storage. The basement features a dropped floor to create an exercise space with a raised ceiling. Outside a new two-stall garage replaced the former single-stall garage.
